We offer a dynamic work environment that will challenge you and help you grow; Shriver provides a rewarding work experience with plenty of opportunities for advancement.Job DescriptionEnsures that food, supplies and equipment are available as needed and stored properly when not in use.Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food for meals.Provides kitchen clean-up to facilitate sanitizing of all food service areas.May supervise Job Corps’ Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.Transfers food, supplies and equipment between storage areas and kitchen and/or cafeteria.Washes, peels and cores fruit and vegetables as necessary.Sets up and takes down tables and chairs.Scrapes, washes, and stores dishes, pots, pans and utensils.Clears, cleans, and sanitizes kitchen, cafeteria area and food storage areas.Cleans refrigerators, stoves, ovens and other kitchen equipment.Sweeps, mops, waxes and strips wax from floors.Cleans and stores trash containers in appropriate areas.Degreases and sanitizes vent screens and filters.Provides superior customer service at all times.Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift and appropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.Provides quality services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of requisite services.Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.Other duties as assigned.ScheduleTuesday-Thursday, 11:00 AM-8:00 PM, Friday & Saturday, 10:00 AM-7:00 PMRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Degree or certification from an accredited or relevant certified training program or school preferred.Ability to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification required.Experience in a food services operation desired.Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.
