Scientist II - Molecular Biology

Responsibilities

• Perform, review, and interpret complex and routine laboratory analyses using manual, automated, or microscopic methods
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair clinical laboratory equipment with preventative maintenance and calibration
• Evaluate quality control procedures, implement corrective actions, and conduct statistical analysis to detect trends
• Author and modify standard operating procedures; design and implement new assays or procedures
• Mentor and train new employees and students in laboratory medicine theory and result interpretation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in biological, chemical, clinical, or medical laboratory science
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and training
• Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems
• Ability to work in Biosafety Level 2 laboratory environment
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities
• US legal work authorization; must pass background check and drug screening
