If you want to make a difference, we want to hear from you.Job SummaryThe Director of Risk Management is responsible for leading the organization's approach to identifying, assessing, and reducing risk across clinical and operational environments. This role partners closely with Quality, Clinical, Operational, and Legal leadership to build a proactive, data-driven risk management program that advances patient safety and organizational performance. This position emphasizes front-end risk prevention, system-level thinking, and cross-functional leadership, while ensuring effective coordination with claims and insurance activities.QualificationsBachelor's degree is required.2 - 4 years leadership experience in healthcare requiredCurrent Georgia Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) is preferred.Compliance, legal, internal audit, risk management or similar regulatory/investigatory role experience requiredStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills preferred.Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into action preferred.Experience working cross-functionally with clinical, legal, and operational teams preferred.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement an integrated risk management strategy aligned with patient safety and organizational prioritiesIdentify system-level risks and translate findings into actionable operational improvementsServe as a key advisor to leadership on risk trends and mitigation strategies.Lead incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis processesIdentify trends and emerging risks through data analysis and reportingPartner with clinical and operational leaders to reduce preventable harm and improve outcomesCollaborate with Quality and Patient Safety teams to align risk management efforts with clinical excellence initiativesSupport development of programs that strengthen a culture of safety and accountabilityPartner with legal counsel on claims management processes and case reviewEnsure risk insights inform claims strategy and organizational learningSupport administration of self-insurance and related programsEstablish and maintain systems for tracking, trending, and reporting risk dataProvide regular reporting and insights to senior leadershipLead cross-functional initiatives across Risk, Quality, Legal, and OperationsInfluence stakeholders at all levels without direct authorityPromote a culture of continuous improvement and shared accountabilityCore CompetenciesThese competencies reflect the values and behaviors expected of all Grady team members, regardless of role.
