Staffing Coordinator / Scheduler

The Staffing Coordinator works closely with the nursing team to address staffing needs and ensures compliance with all regulatory and facility requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Schedule Management:** - Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. - Adjust schedules based on staffing needs, availability, and absences. - Coordinate with the Director of Nursing to address any staffing shortages or overages. 2. **Staff Coordination:** - Communicate with nursing staff regarding schedule changes, open shifts, and availability. - Arrange for coverage in the event of staff call-outs or emergencies. - Maintain an on-call list for last-minute staffing needs. 3. **Compliance and Record Keeping:** - Ensure staffing levels meet state and federal regulations and facility policies. - Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, overtime, and leave. - Prepare staffing reports and analyze trends to optimize scheduling practices. 4. **Communication and Collaboration:** - Collaborate with nursing leadership to anticipate and plan for staffing needs. - Serve as a liaison between staff and management regarding scheduling issues. - Provide regular updates to the Director of Nursing on staffing status and challenges. 5. **Recruitment and Onboarding Support:** - Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process for new staff members. - Coordinate orientation and training schedules for new hires. **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred. - Previous experience in staffing, scheduling, or a related role, preferably in a healthcare setting. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Knowledge of healthcare regulations and staffing requirements.
