Summary

This position will be responsible for handling outgoing mail within the company. It ensures that all mail is sent using the correct sending method. This area routes all particles to their respective areas. Shipping & Distribution tracks all of the incoming and outgoing items and keeps accurate records for verification purposes.

Essential Functions

• Prepares all boxes to be sent out by transferring items to a new box to be sent to client or storage.
• Hand sort mail items.
• computer software use to enter and create labels, tracking numbers in internal systems.
• Running of mail folding and stamping machines.
• Label all boxes for shipping.
• Handles all outbound shipping for any carrier.
• Keep admin on all shipments made by NTC or using NTC's account for verification.
• Prepares packages for shipping consisting of the items batched.
• This position will have KPI metrics based on the number of tasks completed as well as the ability to maintain an acceptable error rate.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics driven environment.
• Ability to prioritize multiple objectives to meet client deadlines and department goals.
• Strong management and leadership skills.
• Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• ability to learn multiple tasks and flex between tasks as work loads change in the department from day to day.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Experience in shipping or mailroom operations preferred.

• Compensation: $15.00 to $18.80 per hour.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon the office or meeting location.

Physical Demands and Activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is frequently required to move about the office, operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; frequently position self to maintain files; frequently moves boxes weighing up to 30 lbs. Close and distance observation required with ability to observe objects at close range in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.

NTC Non-Exempt Operations Position

The amount of work that needs to be accomplished to service the needs of NTC clients is subject to fluctuations. Due to these fluctuations, NTC may require its employees to move from an area where work is slower to an area where their services are more needed by NTC.
