Role Description The Collections Analyst, Orleans DA’s Office CSED, is a full-time, on-site position based in New Orleans, LA. This role focuses on tracking, analyzing, and improving the collection of child support obligations and related payments. Daily tasks include reviewing case files and payment histories, identifying delinquent accounts, and initiating appropriate collection actions consistent with legal and policy guidelines. The Collections Analyst communicates regularly with payors, custodial parties, internal staff, and external agencies to clarify account status, set up payment arrangements, and resolve discrepancies. The role also involves preparing reports, updating databases, documenting all collection efforts, and escalating complex cases to supervisors or attorneys as needed. The position requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to confidentiality requirements, and a commitment to respectful, service-oriented interactions with the public. Qualifications Strong debt collection and account follow-up skills, including experience with payment arrangements, delinquency tracking, and collections best practices. Demonstrated analytical skills to review financial records, reconcile accounts, identify trends, and prepare clear, accurate reports. Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with diverse individuals in sometimes emotionally charged situations. Basic knowledge of finance and financial recordkeeping, including understanding of payment processing, balances, and account adjustments. Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information in compliance with legal and agency standards. Proficiency with office software (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, case management systems) and aptitude for learning new systems. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in finance, business, criminal justice, or a related field is beneficial.
