As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors and staff with professionalism. You will communicate clearly, respond to routine concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment while demonstrating Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour Job Schedule: Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Thur 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, entrances, common spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns. Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed, and report access-control issues or unusual activity in accordance with site procedures. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate. Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately, and promptly communicate relevant information to site leadership and emergency personnel as needed. Minimum Requirements: Possess a New York State Security Guard License. Have at least 1 year of security-related experience. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
