Bamsi Early Intervention (Bei)Full or part time position available for BAMSI Early Intervention (BEI), a program for infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years old) who experience development delays or are at risk for developmental delay. BEI services can be provided in a family's home, daycare/educational programs, telehealth, and are fully equipped in our EI Center. BAMSI EI services has a highly skilled team using an interdisciplinary approach including:Developmental SpecialistPhysical TherapistSpeech and Language PathologistChild Life SpecialistOccupational TherapistSocial Worker/Licensed Mental Health CounselorNurseSpecialty Service ProvidersEarly Intervention clinical training includes 0-3 development, specialized therapeutic techniques, family focused treatment, and IFSP development. Willing to train candidates who meet the qualifications.Responsibilities:Perform functional assessments with familiesParticipate in standardized evaluations with interdisciplinary teamConduct informal assessments of family and child's needsDevelop, write, and implement IFSP's for infants and young childrenParticipate in multi-disciplinary team and provide consultation, training, and supervision to other staff membersProvide center and home base services, group and individual treatmentDesign and implement appropriate home programs to familiesComplete reports, record progress, and interpret reports to families and other staff membersPlan and participate in specialized child groupsFulfill electronic health record keeping requirementsParticipate in staff meetings, supervision, and training along with other staff development activitiesProvide support and assistance to parents regarding child development and learning, advocacy, and community awarenessProvide consultation and education to staff and families regarding general or case specific psychosocial issuesWork with community resources and referral sources for children and families, providing input and/or consultation to other agencies to aid in defining needsServe as advocate for parents and child's first 766 evaluations when leaving the Early Childhood Intervention programPerform duties consistent with agency/program policies and proceduresExecute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Standard precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute riskPerform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designeeQualifications:Massachusetts license as Occupational Therapist requiredMust possess a valid driver's license in state of residence and have own means of transportationMust have accurate or correctable auditory and visual abilities to observe children and maintain safetyOn an infrequent basis, must be able to respond rapidly to safeguard children during an emergency including threat of fire, disaster or imminent danger. Emergency response may require running, carrying or lifting children. Must be able to react quickly to prevent injury or harm to a childOn a moderate to frequent basis, must have the ability to move quickly to reach a child who may need assistanceProvide support and assistance to parents regarding child development and learning advocacy and community awarenessWork with community resources and referral sources and children and families, providing input or consultation to other agencies to aid in defining needsMust be able to stoop, squat, sit or otherwise position self to closely interact with childrenMust be able to bend, reach, stretch and participate in play
