Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility specializing in adult inpatient behavioral health is seeking an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy (DOP) and Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) on a contract basis. This leadership role involves overseeing pharmacy operations in a 54 licensed-bed environment with an average daily census of 52-54 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmacy staffing and maintain smooth operations pending the hiring of a permanent Director of Pharmacy
• Serve as the Pharmacist-In-Charge, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
• Collaborate as an active member of pharmacy-related committees
• Provide oversight and support to pharmacy technicians and per diem pharmacists across shifts
• Participate in overlap training with the outgoing DOP for a seamless transition

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, plus on-call coverage
• Occasional weekend coverage on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Texas pharmacist licensure required
• Proven inpatient pharmacy experience is essential; behavioral health background is a strong plus
• Familiarity with order entry systems such as HCS and site automation tools like Omnicell is advantageous, though not mandatory
• Strong leadership and staffing management capabilities
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse pharmacy team including full-time and per diem staff

Staff and Resources:

• Supports a team including 1 full-time and 1 part-time technician, 3 per diem technicians, 3 per diem pharmacists, and 1 part-time pharmacist

The contract will begin October 1st and continue for approximately 13 weeks, providing overlap training with the outgoing director to ensure continuity.
