Offer will be contingent upon passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Teledyne Cable Solutions (TCS) is comprised of Storm Cable and VariSystems, an integrated alliance supplying engineered solutions to challenging cable situations. POSITION SUMMARY Runs Wire & Cable machines such as extruders, braiders, stripers, bunchers, planetary, re-spoolers, and twinners by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Set‑up and operation of machines in accordance to written work instruction and safety protocols. Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Pushes button or switch to activate machine once set up is complete and verified. Observes machine operation to detect machine malfunction and monitor cable quality throughout the process. Trouble shooting process problems. Willing to receive and provide cross‑training in all machine operations. JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to review and comprehend documentation, processes and/or product with high level of detail. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Familiarity with measuring tools; micrometer, caliper, measuring tape etc. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality. Is consistently at work and on time and arrives at meetings and appointments on time Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Commits to extended work hours when necessary to reach goals Willing to participate in cross‑training efforts. Treats co-workers and management team with respect. Education and Experience High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment background check as a condition of employment. Target Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour. Physical Demands Requires ability to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to grip and feel and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Requires the ability to distinguish colors. Use of safety glasses and safety toe shoes required. Core work schedule of 2pm-10:45pm Monday - Friday with availability for OT M-Sa.
