Clinical Lab Scientist I / Clinical Lab Special Chemistry / Full-time / Days

Clinical Lab Scientist Overview Schedule: Monday-Friday with rotating weekends. Purpose Statement/Position Summary The Clinical Lab Scientist performs standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines, exercising initiative and independent judgment. Communicates technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff. Participates in administrative activities. Provides expertise and serves as a technical resource for others. May provide functional supervision to support staff. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience Minimum 1 year of post-baccalaureate clinical training as a Clinical Lab Scientist in a clinical laboratory OR Minimum 1 year of work experience as a CLS performing high complexity testing in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) For Clinical Lab Scientist with Limited California License: Minimum 1 year of post-baccalaureate clinical training OR Minimum 1 year of work experience in the specialty area related to the license. Preferred 1+ year of clinical experience in the specialty or subspecialty areas of the clinical laboratory Experience performing testing using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass Spectrometry. Strong technical knowledge in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes. Ability to calibrate instruments and conduct quality check reviews. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data management and reporting. Skilled in data analysis and interpretation of results. Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn quickly, with strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive, collaborative attitude and strong teamwork skills. Flexibility in scheduling to meet operational needs. ASCP Board of Registry certification as a Medical Technologist or other relevant specialty preferred. Education/Licensure/Certifications Bachelor's degree meeting California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Laboratory Field Services academic requirements. Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License OR acceptable Limited California Licenses. Pay Scale Information 88,962.00 - 146,151.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization.
