Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Back Office Medical Assistant to join a busy Family Practice team. This position provides hands-on clinical support to physicians and other healthcare providers while helping ensure patients receive efficient, compassionate, and high-quality care.

The ideal candidate has previous back-office MA experience, is comfortable performing clinical duties independently within scope, and can thrive in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures
• Obtain and document vital signs and other pertinent patient information
• Review and update patient information within the EMR
• Assist physicians and other providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Support routine clinical procedures and Medical Assistant duties
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation
• Coordinate follow-up appointments and provider requests
• Communicate patient needs and concerns to the appropriate provider
• Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
• Provide compassionate and professional patient care
• Perform additional back-office clinical duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or equivalent relevant experience
• Previous Back Office Medical Assistant experience
• Experience obtaining and documenting patient vital signs
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Previous experience working with an EMR
• Strong patient service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Family Practice or Primary Care experience
• Experience with Epic
• Experience administering injections and immunizations
• Experience supporting multiple providers or working in a high-volume outpatient practice

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fresno, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
