Job Details:

Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Team Lead Surgical Services

Location: Charleston, SC

Setting: Hospital

Pay Range: 1439.36 - 1511.33

Schedule: 07:00 - 15:30

Contract Length: 13 weeks.

Candidate Type: Traveler

Requirements: CBSPD and/or CRCST - HSPA; Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience; Prior leadership experience; Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems.

Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise Lead Technicians, Tech I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas, including decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage.
• Provide daily staffing assignments based on workload and departmental priorities.
• Oversee instrument tracking, documentation, and inventory control.
• Coordinate daily SPD operations to meet surgical case demands.
• Monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness.
• Troubleshoot equipment, workflow, and instrument issues in real time.
• Ensure proper workflow segregation and adherence to infection prevention practices.
• Audit tray assembly accuracy, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling compliance.
• Organize, store, and distribute instruments and equipment for sterilization and supply.
• Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization processes.
• Monitor adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and universal precautions.
