Quality Specialist

Role Overview The Quality Specialist ensures adherence to quality systems, laboratory procedures, and regulatory requirements within a quality laboratory environment. This role leads internal audit activities, supports analytical testing operations, and drives corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. The position serves as a key technical resource across quality, operations, R&D, and customer-facing functions to maintain compliance and product integrity. Key Responsibilities Lead internal quality audit programs by scheduling audits, training auditors, ensuring compliance, and driving timely corrective action closure. Manage quality laboratory workflows, including execution of analytical testing, equipment calibration, maintenance, and finished goods release. Serve as the technical quality representative during customer, certification body, and regulatory audits and inquiries. Maintain and administer quality systems, documentation, and records using tools such as IFS and Qualtrax; author and update procedures and work instructions. Partner cross-functionally to support investigations, customer complaints, inventory optimization, new product support, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory analytical operations or quality laboratory environments. Hands‑on experience operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment. Working knowledge of quality systems, audits, documentation control, and corrective action processes. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to support cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading internal ISO or similar quality system audits. Proficiency with quality and documentation systems such as IFS, Qualtrax, or comparable platforms. Experience supporting customer audits, regulatory compliance, or certification requirements (e.g., NSF). Background working in manufacturing, chemical, or industrial laboratory environments.
