About This Role
Agape Center for Care is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our growing team! We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and helping create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
As a Teacher Assistant, you will work alongside the Lead Teacher and other classroom staff to support children's learning, development, and daily routines.
What You'll Do Responsibilities- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and curriculum
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children
- Supervise children and ensure appropriate care at all times
- Support children's social, emotional, and developmental needs
- Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, and other daily routines as needed
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Encourage positive behavior and model appropriate interactions
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with team members and families
- Follow all Agape Center for Care policies and Virginia childcare licensing requirements
- Participate in required trainings and professional development
Must have a genuine love for working with children
Dependable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with children is preferred, but training may be provided
Must be able to meet all Virginia childcare licensing and background check requirements
Nice To HavesPrior experience nice but not required.
