We're searching for a passionate and dynamic General Manager to lead our Fulton Market location in Chicago, IL ! With 24 locations across 9 states, we're looking for unique individuals who thrive in a fast-paced growth environment and share our love for out-of-this-world doughnuts.

As the General Manager, you'll have the unique opportunity to build and shape the brand's presence in this new market, while also delivering the iconic doughnut experience that Voodoo Doughnut is known for. In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities outlined in the job posting, you'll also be responsible for hiring and training a new team of doughnut makers and service staff, creating and executing a marketing plan to drive traffic to the store, and developing relationships with local businesses and organizations to increase brand awareness. You'll have the autonomy to make strategic decisions and to bring your personal brand of enthusiasm and creativity to this new venture. With the support of the Voodoo Doughnut leadership team, you'll have access to the resources and tools needed to succeed, and the freedom to take ownership of the store and drive it to success while creating a culture of excellence among your team.

As the ideal candidate, you're an experienced General Manager with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, creating and executing successful marketing plans, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. To qualify for this position, you should have at least 4 years of restaurant management or bakery production experience and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. You should be able to read and react to P/L, have experience with ordering and inventory systems, and understand how to run a guest-focused business. Additionally, you should have a flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and be able to handle physical requirements such as lifting heavy objects and working with cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team of doughnut makers and service staff
• Develop and execute marketing plans to drive sales and grow brand awareness
• Manage financial performance, including sales, labor, food, and operating expenses
• Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Analyze financial data to make informed business decisions
• Create a culture of excellence, emphasizing guest service and quality products
• Foster a positive work environment, providing coaching and feedback to team members
• Communicate effectively with the Voodoo Doughnut team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the food or hospitality industry
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
• Strong business acumen, with experience managing budgets and financial performance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for great doughnuts and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
• A strong work ethic, with the ability to manage competing priorities and make decisions quickly and decisively
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as needed
