This contract opportunity focuses on providing essential assistance within a self-contained program designed for students with more significant needs, including autism, complex medical needs, toileting, and behavioral support. With two openings available, this is your chance to make a meaningful difference during the 2026-2027 school year. The assignment runs from August 24 to June 3, with a 7.25-hour work day, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role, ideally in a school setting
- Strong commitment to working with students with disabilities or special needs
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorder and complex medical needs preferred
- Patience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to assist with toileting and manage challenging behaviors with empathy
- Reliable, timely, and proactive approach to responsibilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required; specialized training or certification a plus
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with significant needs as directed by classroom teachers and specialists
- Assist with daily routines, including personal care and behavioral interventions
- Collaborate with educators and therapists to implement instructional and behavioral plans
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment for all students
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for student dignity at all times
