Job Title: Buyer

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Compensation: $28.00 – $34 per hour

Position Overview:

Addison Group is partnering with a client in the manufacturing industry to identify a Buyer who will support procurement operations and supplier management. This role focuses on ensuring timely acquisition of materials, maintaining vendor relationships, and optimizing purchasing strategies to support production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and assess vendors to secure quality materials and services aligned with business needs
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
• Collaborate with suppliers to communicate demand forecasts and optimize order quantities and packaging
• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships while addressing performance concerns or discrepancies
• Track market conditions, pricing trends, and product availability to guide purchasing decisions
• Evaluate spending patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal guidelines and applicable regulations
• Partner with cross-functional teams including production, scheduling, and engineering to support timelines and operational needs
• Monitor supply availability and anticipate potential shortages or delays
• Follow up on open orders, provide delivery updates, and communicate changes to internal stakeholders as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer or procurement-related role
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail
