The Expanded Learning Time (ELT) Group Leader is responsible for the delivery of engaging and academically enriching activities for Framingham Public Schools students in grades Pre-K-12. ELT Group Leaders are expected to help execute high quality project based learning activities during before and after-school programming, and also support the healthy social and emotional development of all students. The ideal candidate is creative, flexible, able to positively engage with staff, families, and colleagues, and is deeply passionate about the power of out-of-school time programs to advance student learning and development. *Some sites may offer additional hours as needed. Secondary Program Schedule Days - must be available a minimum of 2 days per week, Monday-Thursday. Hours: 2:15 pm-5 pm BACKGROUND CHECK AND TRAINING
As our programs receive funding through the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF), all Employees and volunteers for Elementary and Pre-K Explorers programming must complete a background record check (BRC) through the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) as required by federal law. Starting in May 2024, all staff in EEC child care programs are required to complete the new EEC Essentials 2.0 training course. New hires must finish EEC Essentials 2.0 before they begin working with children. After that, all staff in EEC-licensed and funded programs will need to complete an annual EEC Essentials refresher package. - A high school diploma is required; additional post-secondary education credits in a related field are preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience as an educator in a school or community-based setting is required.
- Basic knowledge of effective youth development and OST principles, practices, and trends is required.
- Experience working with children and adults from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds is required.
- Experience with curriculum design and lesson planning is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.

- Ability to receive constructive feedback and willingness to learn new skills to meet the needs of students and families.
- Familiarity with Google Suite and other technologies as required by the program.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.

- In collaboration with the ELT coordinator, create and facilitate a high-quality, academically enriching curriculum.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure appropriate supervision of all students at all times.
- Respond to and document emergency situations, injuries, and incidents appropriately and in alignment with EEC and/or district regulations.
- Inspire students to set and achieve ambitious academic and personal goals.
- Communicate with families, colleagues, and school staff to support student growth and hold students to consistently high expectations.
- Serve as a role model for students by exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism under FPS core values.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students, ensuring full inclusion of students with special needs and multilingual learners.
- Attend and support family engagement activities and other special events as needed.
- Attend monthly meetings and other required professional development.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Coordinator.

- ELT Elementary Site Coordinator or Secondary Programs Coordinator.
- The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Framingham School Committee Policy.
- This position is classified as Non-Exempt (Hourly).
- This is a ten (10) month seasonal position during the school year.
- Covered under Framingham School Committee Contract. The District reserves the right to transfer personnel as needed. Employees may be requested to work at different sites as needed.
Hours:
- AM Program: 7am-9am (King, Stapleton, Barbieri, Brophy, Potter Road, Hemenway, Harmony Grove, Dunning) or 7am-8am (McCarthy)
- PM Program: 3pm-5:30pm* (King, Stapleton, Barbieri, Brophy, Potter Road, Hemenway, Harmony Grove, Dunning) or 2pm-5:30pm* (McCarthy).
