Insurance Follow-Up Specialist

To ensure timely and accurate resolution of outstanding insurance claims, the full-time remote Insurance Follow-Up Specialist will investigate unpaid or underpaid claims, communicate with insurance carriers, and maintain detailed documentation while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities Conduct detailed analysis and follow-up on outstanding insurance claims to ensure timely resolution Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments by initiating billing corrections and appeals Utilize payer portals and patient accounting systems to manage claim status and follow-up activities Required qualifications 2 years of experience with commercial or third-party insurance claims and medical billing/follow-up Understanding of various forms, codes (CPT & ICD), and insurance terminology Experience with Meditech is preferred but not required Certificates, licenses, registrations, or Medicare certification are a plus, but not required
