Responsibilities and Qualifications The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring it meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The GM works with a leader to set goals and create a plan to achieve them. The GM leads a team of Department Managers with specific responsibilities, helping them set goals, follow up on progress, and provide coaching. The GM also hires and develops Department and Shift Managers to build the right team. Ideal candidates should have previous General Manager experience running high volume locations. A background in quick service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail. The candidate must be 18 years or older to be a manager in our corporate‑owned and operated restaurants.
