Visiting Assistant Professor (Academic-year appointment) - Information Systems & Business Analytics

Job Description The Massry School of Business at the University at Albany is a dynamic, research-driven institution within a flagship public research university. We are AACSB-accredited in both business administration and accounting – a distinction held by fewer than 2% of business schools worldwide. The Information Systems and Business Analytics Department invites applications for a non‑tenure‑track Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics position, beginning Fall 2026. This is a one‑year temporary appointment with possible extensions up to two additional years, subject to successful review and university approval. The position carries a 3/3 teaching load and includes both in‑person and online teaching responsibilities in our undergraduate, MS in Business Analytics, MS in AI in Business, and MBA programs. Courses may be related to business systems applications, including information systems design and development, business analytics, visualization, AI, databases, and statistics. Primary Responsibilities Teach courses as assigned by the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics. Provide service to the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics. Functional and Supervisory Relationships Reports to the Information Systems and Business Analytics Department Chair. Job Requirements Demonstrate the ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within the diverse campus community. Minimum Qualifications A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Information Systems, Operations Research, Decision Science, Applied Analytics, or a closely related field from an AACSB‑accredited college or university, obtained by August 21, 2026. Preferred Qualifications Evidence of teaching effectiveness in different modalities (in‑person, asynchronous, synchronous). Experience teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Experience designing and implementing experiential learning activities in the classroom. Experience as a designer or developer of business information systems.
