Travel Nursing Job Details

• Contract: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Shift: 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Three weekends every six-week schedule
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Floating: First to float within the nurse’s skill set; cross-campus floating may be required with advance notice
• Call Requirement: None
• Local Candidate Policy: Candidates must reside outside the 40-mile radius requirement

Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with an active compact license
• At least 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 full year of ICU experience
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience is required
• Previous travel nursing assignment required
• Trauma Level II experience
• Associate degree or nursing certificate
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent Epic charting experience; successful completion of an Epic checkoff class is required
• Strong neurological assessment skills, including NIHSS and dysphagia screening
• Ability to interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs and successfully complete required telemetry testing
• Demonstrated critical-thinking, adaptability, resilience, and teamwork skills

Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill adult patients in a Neuro ICU setting
• Care for patients with post-stroke conditions, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, respiratory distress, post-code needs, and complex medical conditions
• Monitor and manage patients with neurological drains, biopsies, and external ventriculostomy devices
• Perform thorough neurological assessments and recognize changes in patient condition
• Manage endotracheal tubes and ventilated patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Initiate and titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac medications, vasoactive infusions, and other critical-care therapies according to orders and protocols
• Implement sepsis protocols and provide evidence-based critical-care interventions
• Interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKG results and respond appropriately to changes
• Support advanced patient care needs, including CRRT, tPA assessments, and massive transfusion processes when applicable
• Float to other nearby units or campuses within the nurse’s competency when required
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and contribute to a collaborative learning environment that may include precepting students or new staff
