Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Start Date: June 8, 2026
Location: Hermitage, Tennessee
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend required; self-scheduling model with 4-week schedule blocks

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit with 34 and 25-bed units; patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Diverse case mix including cardiac drips, insulin and heparin drips, BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, Vapotherm, and peritoneal dialysis
• Strong tech support with 2-3 patient care technicians per unit when fully staffed
• Documentation via Meditech; unit performs thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and central line dressing changes
• Self-scheduling model with a collaborative, care-like-family culture and excellent teamwork
• High extension rate among travelers due to supportive environment and unit stability

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Critical thinking skills and strong EKG rhythm interpretation
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Proficiency with BiPAPs, high flow oxygen systems, and multiple oxygen delivery devices
• Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization management
• Peripheral IV skills required; peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Experience with tube feedings, NG/Dobhoff tubes, and wound vac troubleshooting
