As a Retail Furniture Sales Consultant , you will assist customers in selecting furniture by understanding their needs and helping them create a warm and inviting home. They contribute to overall store success and customer satisfaction, consistently meeting established sales goals. Compensation : Earn between $55,000 to $100,000+ per year. In 2024 Havertys Sales Consultants earned $82,000 on average nationally. Schedule : Retail hours including nights and weekends as stores are open 10 am – 7 pm Monday – Saturday and 12 pm – 6 pm Sunday. This is your Opportunity to: Provide excellent service to our customers from contact through delivery and beyond. Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to connect and establish relationships with a diverse group of customers. Build relationships with customers both independently and in collaboration with our Interior Design Consultant offered through the complimentary Design program. Reinforce customer selections and help complete the look of their rooms. Provide product, service, and finance expertise based on customer needs. Utilize company‑provided tablets and proprietary technology for customer communication. Engage customers by entering client information into the Havertys customer relationship management system and providing professional follow‑up. Maintain knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles and products. Complimentary health and wellness program. Job Requirements Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple customer communications simultaneously. Positive and engaging personality. Creative flair and energetic attitude. Proficient in resolving customer objections and ensuring satisfaction. Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products preferred but not required. Computer proficiency including email; knowledge of MS Office preferred; tablet/iPad operation strongly preferred. Relevant experience preferred but not required. College education preferred; high school/GED or equivalent required. 1–3 years of retail experience preferably in a commission‑based sales position. Interior Design highly desired. Showrooms are beautifully appointed with 140‑year heritage; fast‑paced, customer‑focused, professional dress code. Required to work retail hours including nights and weekends. Physical Demands: Stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently.
