Engineer II Systems
Abbott Laboratories
Abbott seeks an Engineer II in Systems to support medical device product development through systems engineering tasks including requirements analysis, testing, and documentation. The role involves investigating technical issues, coordinating across functions, and applying engineering principles to resolve complex problems within assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own pre-defined tasks within product development efforts, driving completion on schedule with high quality
- Investigate and define system requirements for new algorithms and facilitate their transition into projects through clinical evaluation
- Gather, analyze, and translate input requirements into specific system requirements and interface specifications
- Simulate or test new projects and algorithms to validate output meets intended use requirements and customer acceptance
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test frameworks and scripts to improve test efficiency and coverage
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of medical product development experience
- Ability to integrate information from clinical, engineering, marketing, and regulatory disciplines
- Programming or scripting experience in C#, Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar languages
- Experience developing test automation tools, frameworks, or scripts
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in matrixed environments
- Medical device industry experience preferred
