Accountant 1 - (260000P5)DescriptionAccountant 1 will perform entry level professional accounting duties withconcentration in one or more areas to include General Accounting, RiskManagement/Employee Benefits and Budget & Plant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Compile/verify figures for various financial, statistical and budget reports such asbalance sheets, income statements, statistical, annual, budget and pensionreports. Prepare journal entries for recording information to general ledger.Assist in reconciling general ledger/budget accounts to detail records; makenecessary correcting entries. Prepare portions of TVA monthly financial report,monthly reports of TVA insulation loan accounts, annual reports for TVA,financial information for AGA, pension computations and actuary reports andvarious other reports. Assist in the development/implementation of less complexprocedures for new accounting and/or budgeting procedures. Maintain dailyaccounting detail information for entry to the general ledger and budget;maintain/control information related to pension payroll. Prepare various reportsand special studies as required. Perform other duties as directed.QualificationsLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSA valid driver's license from state of residence is required.EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.EXPERIENCE0 to 2 years of experience in accounting is required.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONWorks in office under good conditions. Occasional field analysis for inventory,research and/or to solve problems. Physical Demands: Requires sedentary workinvolving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 20 pounds of forceon a regular basis; and dexterity in operating office equipment.
