Part-Time Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianFRIENDS of Broomfield, a nonprofit organization serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is looking for a part time reliable person to assist with general facility and vehicle maintenance.General DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician will perform basic maintenance tasks and repairs for FRIENDS of Broomfield assigned equipment, vehicles, and facilities. Responsibilities may include minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system troubleshooting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, and other appropriate maintenance.ResponsibilitiesMaintain the facility in a safe, professional, and well-kept conditionPerform routine basic maintenance on building systemsInspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repairPerform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, lightbulb replacement, HVAC systems troubleshooting, minor plumbing and electrical, grounds maintenance, and/or repair of other building fixturesCoordinate repair work with appropriate vendors/trades/contractors as neededOrder supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenanceOversee basic vehicle safety, maintenance and cosmetic needsMaintain facility and transportation maintenance filesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/AbilitiesAbility to follow instructions from supervisorsKnowledge of general carpentry and repairGeneral knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and irrigation systemsGeneral knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairAbility to provide and use hand tools and power toolsFlexibility with schedule and able to respond to an emergency at night or on weekendsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work with a variety of vendors and tradesValid driver's license and clean driving recordEducation & TrainingHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredSpecialized licensing and related experience preferredPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods standing and walkingMust be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spacesMust be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time
