Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care in a clinical setting, utilizing both independent practice and collaborative approaches. This role involves routine and complex patient care, with an emphasis on recognizing and responding to clinical needs across various patient populations, primarily focused on deliveries, circulating c-sections, antepartum care, and initial assessments of newborns.

Shift Information

• Shift: Days - 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• On-Call Requirement: None
• Floating Requirement: No

Nurse/Patient Ratios

• 1:1 on Pitocin for induction or augmentation
• 1:2 for cervical ripening (Cytotec or low dose Pitocin)
• 1:2-3 for Antepartum (depending on acuity)
• 1:2-3 for Triage
• 1:1 for Immediate postpartum (for 2 hours postbirth, mother & baby)

Responsibilities

• Adhere to nursing competencies, including leadership roles as applicable.
• Provide nursing care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families, identifying resources and support systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment or compact.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing specialty is preferred.
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, ACLS.
• Certification in one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).

Position Requirements

• Completion of New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Initial onboarding must be validated through designated competency assessments.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

Work Schedule

This position requires full-time availability.

Dress Code

Navy blue or pink scrubs are required as part of the dress code.
