Senior Sourcing Specialist

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s degree (business, supply chain, engineering, finance, etc.)
• 3-5+ years within sourcing/procurement
• Experience owning sourcing categories and leading supplier negotiations
• Experience working in steel, fabrication, or manufacturing environments - this is a must have for the Senior role, but not the mid-level role
• Strong data and cost modeling skills

Plusses:

• APICS, CPSM, CSCP or similar certs

Role Overview

This role owns, leads, and decides. The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for owning sourcing strategies for steel, fabricated components, and indirect spend. This person leads complex negotiations, drives long‑term cost savings, manages key/strategic suppliers, and serves as a trusted sourcing advisor across the organization. This is a high‑autonomy, strategic role with responsibility for category ownership, supplier decisions, and market‑driven strategy.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Own assigned sourcing categories end‑to‑end
• Steel, fabricated components, and/or indirect spend
• Decide which suppliers to use and how categories are structured long‑term
• Lead complex bids and negotiations
• Draft RFP's
• Run sourcing events end‑to‑end
• Collect, compare, and present proposals
• Drive cost savings at a strategic level
• Interpret market trends and adjust sourcing strategy
• Raw material pricing
• Supplier capacity constraints
• Risk and continuity considerations
• Own strategic supplier relationships
• Manage top, long‑term suppliers (not transactional vendors)
• Address escalated issues
• Mentor and guide other buyers or sourcing team members

Compensation:

$105,000-$125,000/yr
