Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Surgical/Neuro Telemetry unit (48 beds across two units) with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients with diagnoses including COVID, respiratory conditions, GI disorders, diabetes, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical cases
• Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift; remote monitoring and monitor techs are available to read and post strips
• Administer and manage set-rate drips including Diltiazem; titration of drips is not required
• Support respiratory therapy needs including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and breathing treatments
• Float to additional campus locations as needed, including a sister campus and PCU if qualified

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips
• Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients
• Experience with CVA and TIA patient populations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR strongly recommended due to limited unit orientation (1 shift)
• Prior experience in a combined Surgical/Neuro Telemetry setting
• Familiarity with PCU-level care for potential float assignments
