Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Location: Houston, Texas Duration: 3 months Compensation: $38-$43 per hour Work Requirements: US Citizen Skillset / Experience The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of the general ledger. This position oversees complex accounting activities, supports month-end and year-end close, prepares financial analyses, and ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities. General Ledger & Month-End Close Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolving issues proactively. Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and capital project tracking. Reconciliations & Compliance Perform and review bank, intercompany, and account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies. Support internal and external audits through timely preparation of documentation. Cross Functional Support Collaborate with AP, AR, operations, and leadership to ensure proper financial treatment of transactions. Provide guidance to junior accountants and help resolve complex issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 3‑5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
