Jake's Tree Service is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Crane Operator to join our growing team. The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating cranes during tree removal, tree trimming, storm damage cleanup, and other arboricultural operations. This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety while working closely with climbers, ground crew members, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.

• Safely operate company cranes for tree removals, rigging operations, and material handling.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of crane equipment and maintain accurate documentation.
• Set up cranes properly according to site conditions, load capacities, and safety requirements.
• Work closely with tree climbers and ground crews to execute lifting plans safely and efficiently.
• Interpret load charts, calculate lifting capacities, and assess site hazards.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and report equipment issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and industry best practices.
• Assist with storm response and emergency tree removal operations as needed.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of equipment and work areas.
• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.

• Valid CDL (Class A or Class B preferred).
• Experience operating hydraulic cranes or boom trucks.
• Ability to read and understand load charts and crane operating procedures.
• Strong understanding of safety practices and hazard recognition.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties as required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• NCCCO Crane Operator Certification.
• Previous experience in tree care, utility line clearance, logging, or related industries.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience with tree removal crane operations.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to work on uneven terrain and active job sites.
• Ability to perform work in hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions.
• Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness in potentially hazardous environments.
