Senior Director, Agentic AI and Automation

Madrigal Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director to lead enterprise-wide deployment of agentic AI and automation workflows across R&D, commercial, and corporate functions. The role involves defining multi-year strategy, establishing governance standards, and architecting intelligent automation systems within a regulated biotech environment.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute multi-year roadmap for agentic AI, RPA, and process-mining convergence
- Operationalize Agentic Automation Center of Excellence governing standards and ROI tracking
- Architect modular multi-agent systems using frontier LLMs and agent frameworks
- Lead multi-disciplinary automation squads and drive iterative product delivery using agile methodologies
- Establish governance, testing harnesses, and GxP-compliant validation for autonomous workflows
Requirements
- Ph.D. in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
- 15+ years leading AI/ML or intelligent-automation initiatives
- 10+ years hands-on experience with Python, SQL, R, or similar languages
- 12+ years architecting ML/deep-learning solutions including LLMs and RAG pipelines
- 8+ years implementing scalable AI/ML on Databricks, Dataiku, or equivalent platforms
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and regulated compliance (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR)
- Strong communication skills translating complex technical concepts to executive audiences
