Position InformationHiring Manager:Associate DirectorDepartment:Corporate DevelopmentDepartment OverviewThe Corporate Development Team (“CD”) is responsible for planning and executing strategic initiatives for the Firm with a focus on driving growth and profitability. The team collaborates with senior executives and business unit leaders to identify, assess and execute high-impact projects related to M&A, capital raising (debt and equity), partnerships and new product explorations.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Associate will play an active role in shaping the Firm’s growth by evaluating and executing investments, partnerships, transactions and other key business opportunities.Developing and maintaining financial models to evaluate investments and growth opportunities and inform key business decisionsPreparing presentations, analyses and recommendations for senior leadershipAssessing potential investments, acquisitions, partnerships and other inorganic growth opportunities including financial analysis and due diligence, from initial assessment through executionPartnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors including banks, accountants, consultants and lawyers on transactions and other high-priority growth initiatives Conducting market, industry and competitive analysis to identify trends and relevant growth opportunitiesDeveloping deep expertise in Golub Capital’s businesses, the alternative investment industry and the competitive landscapeCandidate RequirementsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree required2+ years of investment banking or corporate development experience at a top-tier investment bank or buy-side firmStrong quantitative, financial modeling and analytical skills requiredFinancial services and / or asset management industry experience is strongly preferredInterest in corporate developmentHigh level of intellectual curiosity with a desire to develop and implement innovative solutions to sophisticated business challengesStrong project management skills and ability to multi-taskAdept at interacting with senior executives, department heads and external partnersDemonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools in day-to-day work, with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, limitations and appropriate use of generated AI outputsEnthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work cultureCritical Competencies for SuccessOur Gold Standards define key behaviors and competencies across 4 dimensions: Leadership, Achieving Results, Personal Effectiveness and Thinking Critically. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
