Roles & Responsibilities
- Load and off-load inbound and outbound shipments using the WMS
- Report discrepancies between inventory counts and shipping/receiving documents
- Load/off-load pallets in a manner that promotes safety and prevents damage
- Locate and retrieve products; replenish picking locations
- Transport palletized product within the distribution centre (unload, put away double deep, bulk and full pallet pick, load, replenishment)
- Operate material handling equipment, including high reach, counterbalance, electric pallet jack, and dock stocker
- Use RF scanner and WMS to ensure inventory accuracy and track products throughout the site
- Ensure product integrity while performing all tasks
- Follow site safety procedures, including required PPE (safety vest, safety shoes)
- Cross-train and become knowledgeable in other warehouse positions; provide backup support as needed
Experience Required
- 2+ years of experience in slipsheet operation (must-have)
- Experience with multiple types of MHE — order pickers, reach trucks, and counterbalance
- Intermediate experience with either high reach or counterbalance forklift required
- 1 year of relevant experience required in lieu of High School Diploma/GED
- Experience with Manhattan WMS – preferred
Skills & Certifications
- Material handling equipment operation (high reach, counterbalance, electric pallet jack, dock stocker, slipsheet)
- RF scanner and WMS usage
- Reading and interpreting distribution documents in English
- Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
- General distribution knowledge
- Basic computer/PC proficiency
- Strong initiative and drive for results
Eligibilities & qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (preferred in lieu of 1 year relevant experience)
- Ability to obtain forklift certification (within 2 days of employment)
- Normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye
- Hearing sufficient to safely operate MHE in a manufacturing/distribution environment
- Ability to perform physical demands: walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, twisting, lifting, and repetitive hand/wrist motion
- Occasional climbing; lifting over 50 lbs required in some areas
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, exposure to moving mechanical equipment, precarious situations, and occasional fumes/airborne particles
- May require mandatory medical evaluation per occupational health and safety compliance
