Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Minimum Experience Required: 2 years of experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted.

Patient Population: This position encompasses a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, and adults.

Certifications Required:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred

General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: We are seeking motivated and experienced labor and delivery travelers to work within a collaborative team-based unit. Responsibilities include:

• Managing labor (vaginal births)
• Assisting with Cesarean sections
• Caring for multiple births
• Addressing postpartum hemorrhage
• Monitoring pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Performing D&C (dilation and curettage)

Ratio / Census: The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2, with 16 labor and delivery beds and an average daily census of 15 patients. The unit includes a 6-bed labor and delivery triage.

Unit Systems: The unit utilizes the following systems:

• Epic (required)
• Pyxis
• SBAR

Scrub Color: Scrubs are provided by the facility.

Request Time Off (RTO): The maximum RTO is 7 days. Please note blackout dates include Spring Break from April 4th to April 12th.

Weekend Requirements: A minimum of 3 weekend shifts is required per contract.

Floating Requirements: Travelers may be required to float within the facility and scope of practice as needed.

Call Requirements: For AM and PM shifts, 2 calls are required every 6 weeks.

Holiday Requirements: Travelers are expected to work during holidays based on the following guidelines:

• If assigned during one major holiday, you are expected to work it.
• If scheduled during two major holidays, you are expected to work both.
• If three major holidays fall within your assignment period, you are expected to work at least two.

Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Compliance: Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time. Non-compliance will result in a pushback of 2 weeks due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Aya Offer Information: Once a candidate has signed and confirmation is sent, the hiring manager will have 48 hours to review the profile and determine fit for unit, schedule, and expertise. The Aya offer is contingent upon clinical approval within RTO guidelines and meeting specific facility requirements.

Locals Accepted: Local candidates are welcome and will receive the same rate as travelers.

Non-Billable Orientation Hours: The number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours is determined by contract length. For example, 8 hours for an 8-week assignment and 19 hours for a 19-week assignment.
