Solutions Architect

DescriptionResponsible for establishing and providing leadership to the technology strategy and technology roadmaps for the Sales and Agency Support (S&AS) Portfolio, primarily focused on Salesforce Financial Services Cloud. Works closely with Solutions Engineers and teams on engineering choices and how they align to enterprise well-architected framework. Develop specifications for new and existing products/services, applications and service offerings. Provides technical oversight and architecture/engineering solutions to large, strategic, complex system and application development projects, usually at the domain and product level. Use professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters. Recognized as a thought leader within discipline who influences decisions made by senior leadership and advances the craft of architecture within our organization.**This is a hybrid role requiring two days in the office a week **The Sales & Agency Support portfolio delivers innovative technological solutions and platforms that empower USRM’s distribution channels to operate efficiently and achieve profitable growth. Through agency and partner relationship management, enhanced independent agency experience, and streamlined sales information management, we provide the foundation for our sales leader’s success. Our mission is to equip employees and agents with the tools and insights they need to simplify producer and partner relationship management, ensuring a best-in-class experience at every touchpoint.ResponsibilitiesContributes to the development of the technology strategy and technology roadmaps that enable the business, usually for a specific business capability domain.Provides consultation and collaborates with Engineering Managers, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range product features. Provides oversight at the business capability domain level influencing decision-making and prioritizing the business and architecture backlog for the aligned development squads.Educates and drives adoption of the well-architected framework in order to promote Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization into cultural norms.Contributes to design and development of architecture (integrated process, methodology, framework, software/applications, data, information, and technology) scalable solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.Influences and partners with the Product Owners and engineering teams to align the technical design and strategy with the product roadmap.Connects Solution Engineering with Technology and Portfolio Architecture work to ensure sound roadmaps which deliver business value.Responsible for prototyping complex, cross platform business solutions to validate newer technologies. Reviews and ensures major architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible and cost-effective solutions. Participates with application and infrastructure design architects to provide guidance for development and releases.Maintains collaborative and strategic partnerships between customers, vendors, business partners, and technology teams.Share expertise to ensure that teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future engineering and architecture needs.QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experienceAt least 10 years of related experienceKnowledgeable in software engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologiesIn-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principlesIn-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs; in-depth understanding of shared software concepts and product features, as well as security mindedProficient in all product and system components of technical architectureIn-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies; in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends and the financial services industryStrong influencing and consensus building skills, and the adaptability to respond to change quicklyStrong communications skills, both written and verbalAbility to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization with diverse backgroundsProven experience with agile practices and expectationsHighly developed negotiation, consensus building & influencing skills, facilitation and the adaptability to respond to change quicklyHighly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skillsAbility to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organizationAbout UsPay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location.
