Basic Purpose of the Job: The Specialist works to accomplish the mission of the FCT program by providing the treatment plan, therapy, resources, and interventions necessary to create a strong family environment that will provide for the needs of the child and families served.

• Assigned caseloads are limited to 5 families, spending an average of 4 hours per week with a minimum of 2 weekly contacts.
• Enroll in Wheels of Change and complete FCT certification within 1 year of start date.
• Attends and participates in weekly team supervision meetings where cases are reviewed, and feedback is provided.
• Complete and maintain all program fidelity documents, reports, and assessments in a timely manner reflecting the FCT language.
• Provides intervention to families in crisis situations.
• Provides FCT in-home family treatment, adhering to and ensuring fidelity to the FCT model.
• Ability to prioritize cases for multiple clients.
• Serves as liaison with DCF, courts, schools, other providers, and community.
• Complete and maintain all program fidelity documents in a timely manner.
• Completes reports for court and attends when needed.

Minimum Education, Licensure/Certifications, and Job Requirements:

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in social or family services, e.g., Social Work, Psychology, and Sociology. If licensed, in good standing with Kansas BSRB.
• At least one year of experience working with children and families.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check and an Adult Registry check.
• FBI Fingerprint Check
• Lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.

• Flexible to changing situations, ability to work evenings and weekend if needed by the family.
• Able to solve problems and make independent judgments to effect change, but also able and willing to seek assistance when necessary.
• Works alone effectively, self-motivated, works effectively with others and ability to receive feedback.
• Understands and practices Universal Precautions.
• Ability to travel and provide in-home services.
• Home based office option when not in sessions with families.
