Position Description : The Energy Driver is responsible for delivery of bulk refined fuels and/or propane in a safe and efficient manner to agricultural, commercial, residential and consumer end users. Drivers are responsible for completing all assigned duties in accordance with company policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. This position will report to the Location Manager. This is a safety sensitive position and requires a negative drug test, and 20 percent of employees are chosen at random for drug testing due to company policy. Responsibilities This position requires the ability to perform a combination of the following duties during 95% of workday/shift. Although exact duties may vary from day to day, our business and staffing model make it essential to be able to perform all the following duties accurately, efficiently, and safely on a regular basis. Demonstrate attention to detail, able to make good judgments quickly and the ability to multi-task. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Loads, secures transport, delivers and unloads refined fuels and/or propane to and from specified locations. • Inspect vehicle and notify supervisor of any needed equipment, supplies or regular maintenance. • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company policies. • Complete system hookups and perform fuel and/or propane tests as needed. • Deliver and/ or assist with other deliveries and tasks as needed. • Provide exceptional customer service, answer customer inquiries and/or supply service or service information. • Grow customer base by identifying new opportunities in surrounding communities. • Perform all duties, operate vehicles and other equipment according to established safety rules, guidelines, and company policies. • Demonstrate ongoing communication with all levels and divisions of the company to enhance teamwork and effectiveness in alignment of company policies and goals. Work Environment • This position operates in an enclosed truck daily. • Work outdoors while loading and unloading goods. • Sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures. • There is also frequent contact/exposure to contaminants, such as fuel, propane, or exhaust. • Deal with sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. • Work shift days and hours may vary. Holiday, evening, and weekend work may be required as dictated by business needs. Physical and Mental Demands It is essential to have physical and mental stamina, as well as the ability to perform job duties efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must also have the physical and mental ability to perform all of the following tasks (with or without reasonable accommodation): • Frequently sit and drive for extended periods of time. • Routinely sit, stand, walk, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, climb ladders, push, pull, lift or reach overhead and reach with hands and/or arms. • Occasionally climb, ascends/descends, and/or work at elevated heights. • Repetitive motion of the wrists, hand and/or fingers. • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. • Vision abilities include close and distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. • Read, write, and count accurately to complete any and all necessary documentation. • To communicate effectively with other employees and guests using strong verbal and written communication skills.
