Control Systems Application Engineer

Salary: $103,000 - 143,000 per year Requirements:

• We need a bachelors degree in electrical engineering and/or computer engineering with 0–2 years of relevant experience, or 4+ years of experience in PLC-driven process controls.
• We require proficiency programming multiple PLC brands and platforms, with strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley 5000 and 500 series; familiarity with Schneider systems is a plus.
• We expect a solid understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and instrumentation; SCADA experience is not required but is highly valued.
• We need strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with clients and cross-functional team members.
• We require the ability to meet project deadlines and keep files and deliverables well organized so others can use them effectively.
• We require occasional local travel to job sites for installation support or emergency response.
• We require that the candidate be local to the Charleston, SC area.

• We design, develop, maintain, and implement PLC and HMI systems for industrial automation and control applications.
• We write efficient and reliable PLC code to control machinery and processes based on client and project requirements.
• We integrate PLC solutions with HMIs, SCADA systems, and field devices.
• We prepare organized technical documentation, including submittals and user guides.
• We support Factory Acceptance Testing by validating PLC logic and confirming safety and quality standards.
• We build and run simulations to verify control-system logic and functionality.
• We travel to client sites to commission PLC systems, including overseeing panel installation, startup, software setup, testing, and functional verification.
• We troubleshoot issues involving PLC hardware and software, electrical circuits, and communication networks during commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
• We provide direct support to clients with control-system questions, issues, and maintenance needs.
• We stay current on PLC technology, automation, and industrial control advancements through ongoing learning and company training.
