Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

A Personal Care Assistant is an individual who provides support services to assist clients with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional. The Personal Care Assistant may work in a variety of settings, to include medical facilities, rehabilitation centers or in-home residential care.


Minimum Requirements:

• State licensure or certification if required by state and/or contract
• One (1) year relevant patient/client care experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

PCA (Personal Care Assistant/Specialist)

Location: Fairfax County, VA


Start Date: 09/28/2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks (through end of year, possible extension)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Overview

Seeking experienced PCAs to support participants at Adult Day Centers. This role involves coordinating program activities, assisting with ADLs, and providing care to adults in a structured day program setting. Staff must be comfortable floating between four facilities as needed.

Requirements

• CNA certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of memory care and/or long-term care experience
• Ability to float between multiple Fairfax County locations
• Flexible with daily assignments and responsibilities
• Must interview in person

Patient Ratio

• 6:1 participant-to-PCA ratio

Orientation

• 40-hour onsite training before working independently with participants
• Additional onsite orientation provided
