Your Role Tetra Tech’s King of Prussia, Pennsylvania office is seeking a Senior Project Manager Engineer to join our Engineering team. The qualified candidate must have a BS in civil or geotechnical engineering and preferably an MS in engineering with a minimum of 25 years working in an engineering role addressing hazardous waste impacts. Responsibilities Manage municipal and federal projects, and ensure compliance with state environmental requirements for states in the Mid‑Atlantic and Northeast. Perform site‑specific evaluations, assessments, engineering studies, design proposals, and project execution services for projects varying in size and scope. Participate in environmental restoration project design developments ensuring key deadlines are met and project team members and design disciplines work together collaboratively and effectively. Prepare remedial designs, feasibility studies, remedial action completion reports, and have familiarity with water quality modeling. Implement various approaches for management of solid and hazardous wastes as well as the response and cleanup of hazardous substance releases, including reuse of contaminated properties. Provide team leadership and manage multidisciplinary teams with members located at various geographic locations. Demonstrate exceptional organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks. Prepare multidisciplinary design plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical documents and contracts. Drive business development of new clients and maintain existing client relationships; employ a multidisciplinary approach to marketing and sales strategies; identify industry trends and attend and/or present at local, regional, or national conferences. Supervisory and project management duties. Participate in the professional community and build the Tetra Tech brand. Provide business development and proposal support. Monitor health and safety aspects of projects and recommend changes as necessary. Monitor quality assurance procedures and recommend necessary changes. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications 25+ years of progressively managing complex engineering projects, including environmental investigations, design, and remediation projects. Bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferred) or a related engineering discipline. An advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) may account for 1‑2 years of experience. Experience providing engineering support to municipalities, commercial clients, EPA, USACE, ANG, Navy, and related agencies. Ability to navigate state regulatory approval processes for permitting stormwater and/or wastewater discharges. Familiarity with and ability to manage use of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D/Plant 3D,ArcGIS, and related software. Recent experience with the design of sustainable green infrastructure, including subsurface storage and infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and constructed wetlands. Demonstrated experience managing project teams, budgets, and schedules, and supporting government clients. Experience with cost estimates using available industry software. Strong work ethic, problem‑solving skills, effective time‑management, and ability to meet tight deadlines. Must be a U.S. citizen. Experience working with USACE, EPA, PADEP, NJDEP, and NYSDEC agency requirements for hazardous waste remediation projects. 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8‑hour refresher training required. 8‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER supervisor training is a plus. 10‑hour construction training is a plus. Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 25 % (mostly local). A valid driver’s license. Knowledge of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York environmental regulations and guidance is preferred. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills are required. Assist in presenting information to groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public. Other Skills: Experience with technical software including Surfer, LogPlot, AQTESOLV, GIS, and/or CADD is a plus. Experience in Microsoft Windows Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams is preferred.
