Job Details

The Accounting Manager / Bookkeeper will play an important role in keeping financial operations organized and running smoothly. The position touches multiple areas of the business, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, member billing, payroll support, budgeting, month-end reporting, and year-end preparation. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a smaller organizational setting.

A CPA or accounting degree is not required. We are looking for practical accounting experience, reliability, and someone who takes pride in producing accurate, timely work.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including processing invoices, payments, and deposits
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts while identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Maintain complete and accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end close activities and preparation of routine financial reports
• Support the annual budgeting process and help monitor departmental spending against established budgets
• Assist with payroll processing, payroll records, and related administrative requirements
• Review member accounts, billing activity, payments, and outstanding balances to ensure accuracy
• Research and resolve routine billing or account questions in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain organized financial files and documentation to support year-end reporting and preparation
• Work closely with club management and department leaders to answer financial questions and provide relevant accounting information
• Help maintain consistent accounting procedures and identify opportunities to improve organization, accuracy, and efficiency
• Handle sensitive financial and member information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

Qualifications

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, financial administration, or a similar role
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and general accounting practices
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, accounting software, and financial records
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and follow-through skills
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet recurring financial deadlines
• Sound judgment and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
• Ability to handle confidential financial and member information appropriately
• Clear, professional communication and a practical, service-minded approach
• Previous accounting experience within a country club, hospitality environment, or small business is preferred but not required
• Experience with Jonas, ADP, or comparable accounting and payroll systems is a plus

A degree or CPA credential is not required for this opportunity.
