Video Producer (Level 1 Journalist, Temp-guild)

Are you passionate about the chance to bring your extensive producing experience to a world-class company that is market-leading for both content and technology? We’re looking for a Video Producer to join our Reuters Editorial team in Los Angeles in a temporary role.

Our team reports on a wide range of stories, including news, politics, immigration, technology, entertainment and sports. We also produce longer feature pieces for our broadcast and digital clients.

About the Role

As our  Video Producer (Level 1 Journalist - Temp) , you will:

• Produce, edit, write and deliver agency video stories from both office and field 

• Respond quickly to major breaking news events, in a responsible manner 

• Have the ability to work long hours, some weekend shifts, often under extreme pressure and unsupervised at times 

• Have a sharp eye for visual news elements and video storytelling

• Have a thorough understanding of video technology and social media 

• Have excellent communication skills 

About You

You're a fit for the  Video Producer (Level 1 Jounralist, Temp) , if you likely have:

• Minimum five years of experience as a professional video producer, with a strong track record covering hard news 

• Experience with live broadcast and technical knowledge

• Experience in broadcast or agency television newsgathering and production 

• Significant experience working with multimedia and video packaging teams 

• Willingness to travel to breaking news stories, often at short notice

• Strong skills in driving accuracy and speed while upholding Thomson Reuters editorial principles and policies 

• Understanding needs of broadcast and digital clients, regionally and internationally 

• Excellent English writing skills 

• Additional language skills considered an advantage

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation hourly range for the role in any of those locations is $72,000 USD - $130,000 USD/hr.
