Pay: $24–$29/hour
An established organization in the Trumbull area is looking for a Bookkeeper to help manage its day-to-day financial records and accounting activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping financial information organized, staying on top of deadlines, and ensuring transactions are recorded accurately.
Position Overview
The Bookkeeper will maintain financial records, track incoming and outgoing payments, and assist with routine accounting tasks. The right candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling multiple responsibilities while keeping records accurate and up to date.
Responsibilities
Record daily financial transactions and maintain organized accounting records
Manage accounts payable, including invoice entry, payment tracking, and vendor follow-up
Assist with accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and payment application
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts
Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on payment discrepancies
Maintain vendor and customer records
Assist with tracking expenses and organizing financial documentation
Prepare basic financial summaries and reports
Support monthly close activities and provide information for year-end reporting
Help gather documentation for tax preparation and external accounting requests
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
Assist with general office and administrative tasks related to accounting
Qualifications
2+ years of bookkeeping or hands-on accounting experience
Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks or a similar system
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to maintain accurate records and meet recurring deadlines
Good communication skills when working with vendors, customers, and internal staff
Ability to work independently and prioritize daily responsibilities
