Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff on the assigned shift, planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering nursing care to patients across age groups.
• Coordinate clinical activities and bed-flow management, monitor staffing levels based on patient acuity, and escalate staffing or operational needs per policy.
• Collaborate with Nurse Managers and unit leadership to ensure regulatory readiness, standardization of care, and effective communication across shifts.
• Support nurses in managing emergency clinical and/or administrative situations in accordance with established policies and protocols.
• Facilitate competency assessment, staff development, and ongoing professional practice guidelines for nursing staff on evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Serve as a liaison between off-shift staff and Nursing leadership to promote positive patient outcomes and timely dissemination of information.

Requirements

• NYS RN licensure (active) required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) required; CPI Certification within 90 days of hire
• 2 years Med/Surg RN experience; 1 year Critical Care experience; 1 year supervisory/clinical lead experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with healthcare team members, physicians, and the public
• Nursing degree from an accredited program and current practice in an acute care setting
• Ability to work 3x12 night shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
