Job Title: Certified Phlebotomist - Per Diem (Night Shift)

Job Summary
The Certified Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood collection procedures on patients of all ages during night shift hours. This per diem role supports clinical laboratory operations by ensuring accurate specimen collection, proper handling, and timely delivery while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws in accordance with established policies and procedures
Properly label, process, and transport specimens to ensure accuracy and integrity
Verify patient identification and follow all safety and infection control protocols
Maintain professionalism and provide compassionate care to patients during specimen collection
Accurately document collection activities and report any issues or specimen discrepancies
Collaborate with nursing and laboratory staff to support efficient workflow
Adhere to regulatory, compliance, and quality assurance standards
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory operations

Schedule & Assignment Details

Per diem night shift position
Typical shift hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Assignment duration: January through February
Start date must be within the specified start week (no exceptions)

Required Qualifications

Certified Phlebotomist
Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience
Current BLS certification
Strong attention to detail and adherence to specimen collection protocols
Ability to work independently during night shifts
Excellent communication and patient interaction skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an acute care or hospital laboratory setting
Familiarity with electronic documentation systems
Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in a per diem role
