Applications accepted from: ALL PERSONS INTERESTED Position Title: Victim Assistance Coordinator Department: Prosecuting Attorney Pay Grade: 10 Workday & Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm (After meeting eligibility requirements, Health - Dental - Vision - Life Insurance - EAP Program - Retirement APERS - Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System) Vacation, Sick time, Holiday time Job Summary In accordance with A.C.A. 16-21-107, a Victim/Witness Coordinator is created to provide technical assistance and support to all victims of crimes and their families, and to witnesses involved in the criminal justice system. The role focuses primarily on cases involving victims of violent crimes and serves as a resource within the office regarding the dynamics specific to these crimes and how they affect prosecution. The ultimate goal is to provide the information and support needed to ensure positive experiences with the criminal justice system, assist prosecutors toward successful resolution of criminal cases, and enhance community response to victimization. Responsibilities Provide technical assistance and support to victims, their families, and witnesses. Develop and implement programs intended to result in such support. Maintain a communication network for victim/witness programs. Serve as a resource regarding dynamics of violent crime cases and their impact on prosecution. Qualifications Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required. Subject to pre-employment, random drug and reasonable suspicion testing; candidates for promotional positions must pass an assignment drug test.
