Facility: Lucas County Health Center
Location: Chariton, IA 50049
Shift: Varied Days (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM) + Every 6th Weekend
Pay Rate: $56.00 - $61.00 per Hour

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care and is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating total nursing care for Med-Surg patients. The RN collaborates effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN License
• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care experience
• BLS (Healthcare Provider) Certification required
• ACLS Certification preferred
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and coordinate nursing services.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to providers and care teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
• Prioritize patient needs and workload effectively.
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies.
• Participate in orientation, training programs, meetings, and in-service education.
• Foster positive working relationships with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.
• Respond effectively and calmly during emergencies.

Work Schedule

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Rotating weekends (Every 6th Weekend)
• May be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
